How to be a good person
Don’t mindlessly donate because you believe that it makes you a good person. You might do damage to things instead of helping anything at all.
Don’t publish it on social media. That would be disrespectful, because it looks like you just do it for fame and not because you want to be a good person.
It is ok to mention that you donated to something or that you suggest doing it. You don’t want to do it for likes, if you want to be ethical in my opinion.
Example
Keanu Reeves donates to charities. People know that because they saw him donating. He does not post it on social media.
Questions which you should ask yourself
- Does this organization or person really need it?
- What will they do with the money?
- Will this donation change anything?
Most importantly: Does the money reach the right people?
The path of the money
Organizations
Many donations programs are just organizations that want your money, and it makes rich people richer. It is important to keep that in mind.
Example
An example is Wikipedia. They don’t need extra money. Most of the money goes to rich people which just become richer.

Donation tools
Donation tools usually take a percentage of the money. I wouldn’t ever trust Facebook with money. Look at Facebook’s terrible history. I don’t get why people still trust Facebook.
Bandcamp on the other side seems like an amazing platform to support artists and I do buy some music which I enjoy there. I have talked with some artists, that I know.
People
I highly recommend donating to a specific person. You actually know who you help and can be more sure about the path of the money.
Support independent people. Support what you like. Don’t just throw your money away. Help people.
I agree that money is not as important as other things in life, but you shouldn’t give it to people which weren’t meant to receive it.
Donating is still a good thing
I do recommend donating to things which you enjoy so that it can keep existing. Keep the previous things in mind though. Some things need your support to stay alive.
Donate to my site
Note
First of all. I currently don’t need the money. You might want to consider donating to someone who needs the money. Other than that if you like my content and want my site to exist. Donating helps.
I do want to say where the money goes to if you contact me. Suggestions on what you would like to see are allowed too. You don’t have to donate to ask me something.
Brave
You can donate to my site through Brave.
I might add different donation options later. I can accept most cryptocurrencies. Contact me about donating and I will reply.
